The world of the burlesque festival circuit it's is own entity, Trying to remain as unique as possible as a festival is important to us in Ohio. We acknowledge that our performers are spending their hard earned money to apply, travel, market and network at our festival and want to make sure they understand "We are inclusive not exclusive"
Identifying our growing pains has been a challenge, The 2013 festival really took us by surprise with record applications we experience a severe influx of applicants and we could not have been for excited about the different styles we encountered upon review. This is no longer just a small festival that can do with what it had but its a festival with the need to expand.

Big Audio Mike (Sound and Lighting Tech) To be honest the two biggest issues is what took our focus this year was our lighting and video recording,
The fact that were suffered greatly due to not having accurate lighting and recording last year was a hard hit, This year it was the first priority on our lists and after securing a fantastic lighting sponsor for not only the festival but for other productions made us feel like we were taking the steps forward to growing in our production value.

As far as the video recording teaming up with Subpar Productions owner Cory Gottron has made us feel that the festival can guarantee quality video can be given to each performer in a timely fashion. This investment for some performers is crucial.
Understanding our surroundings has been a challenge for the last few years, We have been able to meet those challenges with our inventive team of directors. Our Photography director Eric Owens has taken amazing photo documentary style images form our first year to our present year, Allowing us to see the growth of the festival it self. Our photography challenge is to make sure the additional photographers are in the same page about the use equipment that might not met the festivals artistic needs.
Zoe Renne Lapin has been part of our back stage photography crew since year one and her images of the entertainers backstage have proven to us that we are a very unique family in OBF.
Bob Perkoski and Anstacia Pantsios have also been part of our team giving us amazing images that are part of local press that showcases our lovely show.

Tennie Novak (Stage Manager) In the dressing room our house mom Sonshine does take care of the girls needs and keeps the behinds the scenes together and neat (as neat as glitter, feathers and sequins can be).
The Stage Manager Tennie Novak keeps the show running on time with ease, She does handle the army of kittens that volunteer their time to the festival every year.
The crew of The Beachland is absolutely amazing and they makes a very amazing effort along side with us to service the performers and patrons alike with consistency. They make sure the bar is running smoothly and the door keeps flowing with audience members excited to see the show.

There is so many roles at this festival that are filled by friends and family as well as other local staff that might go unnoticed, but they are very much appreciated. We have had great support in Cleveland by the print and web media as well as independent promotion companies like Cleveland Music City.
The Cleveland Scene and Yelp Clevleand have been pushing us since day one and we can't tell you how lucky we are to have them.
Our acknowledgment of individuality this year will hopefully set us apart from our little festival mentality, Growing up is not easy but we are doing it in the best way right now, We work with down to earth people that are not only understanding and offer advise and that to us is priceless.
"There is a skeleton in this show of very devoted working individuals that work long and hard to create the meat on those bones and i admire their skill and artistic vision they bring to this crazy dream of ours alive. Having them join us understanding most of all this is a work of love makes us very lucky as a member of this team. The respect i hold for these individuals and their sacrifice is great and it's also never ending. My favorite memory was when Constatinople and I Cried during night one of the festival due to the beauty created on stage the room was full of energy. To see every one worked so hard to create it was truly a family gathering." - Says Bella Sin
This years festival is geared is hopping to receive more applications from all over the world, They are hoping to expand more nerdlesque, queerlestque, boylesque and in general more inventive innovative fun hight energy routines that will make the show every unique.
This event does kick off the celebrations in Cleveland, We are the week before the large International event Gay Games 9 that is taking place here in Cleveland and Akron. Our audience is going to be a melting pot of culture and we are so excited to showcase our fantastic work to them and our growth to all our future family.
