The Reigning Mx Ohio Burlesque Title
The Mx Ohio Burlesque Crown was started in 2019 to award people who have been doing work in our community for education and growth. The burlesque industry is constantly evolving which means constant steering toward community building and learning needs to happen and in this education, there is a lot of labor from the community advocates who are fighting to give space in this performance community to marginalized groups of people.
The Ohio Burlesque Festival felt it was time to recognize people not for their performance prowess but for the incredible work outside of the stage that echoed thru our industry and built community. So Crowned Royal Bella Sin created Mx Ohio Burlesque.
The title is voted upon from a list of participants that have presented exceptional care and direction for their community and their work as an activist. Every year a panel selects the new royal to the crown at our festival Friday Night All-Stars.
