50th Anniversary New Agency Award 2019
Ohio Burlesque/Cleveland Burlesque received this honor this spring by MoCa Cleveland.
What is The New Agency:
. The New Agency is a special group of experimenters, catalysts, and change-makers, who are pushing Cleveland forward right now. Designers, artists, DJs, entrepreneurs, mixologists, and more, they stimulate innovation.
MoCa’s roots were planted in late 1968 when it opened as the New Gallery, Cleveland’s first contemporary art gallery. Its first exhibit, The Metropolitan Scene, featured 28 artists including Andy Warhol, Claus Oldenburg and Christo, whose work brought the best in New York and L.A. cosmopolitan culture.

festivalReview by Altohio.com for The Ohio Burlesque Festival
""I witnessed the dazzling spectacle on Friday, August 5th, the second night in a three day long festival, and I would argue dollar for dollar it had to be the best show in Cleveland that night (and of the entire weekend). Acts from all over the country performed as well as the Le Femme Mystique performers who have made Cleveland a burlesque destination for the rest of the country.
Friday night was hosted by the witty Ken Schneck, who had me rolling around laughing in between acts, simply by exuding his enthusiasm, observational humor, and obvious love for the performers and the show." - Continue reading

Review by Altohio.com from the Show Nerdlesque
*Aside from all the glamour, talent, and tons of rhinestones that graced the Beachland Ballroom stage, another aspect of the show really hit me in a profound way. All of the burlesque dancers were different body types and, both as a woman and a person who appreciates good art, I found that refreshing. Sin explained about the troupe’s body inclusive and body positive attitude, “We fight a lot with the fact that people do not find female form in general sexy. I needed to showcase women of all sizes, colors, sexual orientations, because they all have a story…Everybody has a type and a fetish and not everybody is the same.” *- Lisa AltOhio.com
