We are honored to be receiving a special recognition letter from State Representative Nickie J. Antonio The Ohio House of Representatives. We are very greatful for the support the festival bring to our state and not to mention our city economy, We support local and state wide 501c3s that need funding assistance or just hands on to help around events or the centers. "Diversity, Unity, and Inclusivity."-OBF It's an exciting year for the 4th annual international festival, We are very honored to be receiving a Scroll from Cleveland City Council in recognition of our outreach to the Cleveland Community and our representation of Cleveland thru the 4 years of our international festival. Our staff is beside ourselves with gratitude to our city leaders for this amazing recognition to our efforts to present Cleveland in the best light possible internationally and locally. Our State wide festival is a challenge every year and we are honored and humbled by this award. Our mayor for the second year in a row has welcome festival participants with a written letter to our beautiful city, We are beside ourselves right now and hope that you may join us at the 4th annual international celebration July 31st thru Aug 2nd. Tell us a bit about you?
Well, I'm a producer, host, singer and entertainer based in New York. I just relocated from Seattle in February. I am an associate producer with Wasabassco, I just joined a band and I love to be on stage. Oh- and I'm really tall. Tell us 3 things about burlesque that move you? The movement, costumes and the audiences. Are you excited to come to Cleveland? For sure! I love performing anywhere that I am wanted. What would you like to see while you here? Besides a whole bunch of fun performances at the festival? Well, I would love to see the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Besides that though, I think I'll be too busy with festival stuff to do much else! :) Tell us a bit about you?
Hi! Matt Knife and I produce NYC's first monthly Boylesque show at the Historic Stonewall Inn. I am a professional costume designer, painter and all around artist. I enjoy performing a range of acts from silly to sexy. I currently live in Brooklyn with my Husband. Tell us 3 things about burlesque that move you? The Burlesque Community as a whole is pretty amazing. The Costumes! The Stories!!! Are you excited to come to Cleveland ? I am! I am originally from Cincinnati so I love the opportunity to perform in my home state. Cleveland is still forgien territory so I am looking forward to exploring. What would you like to see while you here? Amazing burlesque and wonderful people! Tell us a bit about you? I have been doing burlesque for 11 years, I travel all over the country performing and volunteering. I have owned Le Femme Mystique Burlesque for 10 years as of March of this year and well I have been a bit of all over. I love burlesque history and i teach it along with dance at The Cleveland Burlesque Academy sponsored by Ambiance! Tell us 3 things about burlesque that move you? The Music is a big one, The ability to be creative and innovative along with the vast family i have made thru the years! I heard a little birdie say you are brining something different this year, Can you tell us about it? I can't tell you a lot about the new number but to me this is a very important evolution in my art, It will be darker and more in the line of neo burlesque. I love making new numbers and this will be fun, creative and will push my limits :) #witchhouse What would you like to say to all those coming to our city and state? Show girl at heart, Aya is a featured performer this year on Saturday night's Gala. We Caught up with Aya to talk to her a bit about her big comeback performance to Cle! Tell us a bit about you? I am so very excited to be back performing in my hometown! I currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada but was raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. I moved to Las Vegas to pursue a career in the hospitality industry but fell in love with vintage Las Vegas and burlesque in particular along the way. I currently teach at Las Vegas Burlesque Studio and perform in Las Vegas. I also enjoy traveling the country to perform in festivals such as the Southwest Burlesque Festival, Hollywood Burlesque Festival, Kansas City Burlesque Festival and the New Orleans Burlesque Festival. Tell us 3 things about burlesque that move you? I love entertaining people. I love seeing others grow and gain confidence through burlesque. I love the diversity and acceptance of burlesque. What would you like to see while you here? I am excited to see old friends and family and also make new friends from all over. |
