BURLESQUE CHARACTER (More than Making Faces) w/ Viktor Devonne

Creating acts are chapters within the same memoir of the burlesque performer. Finding synergy to your choices will make you a stronger actor, more authentic stage persona, and better entertainer.
Viktor Devonne has been making faces most his life, but for 20 years on the burlesque stage, with an additional six with the Rocky Horror community group Home of Happiness, and Broadway-level training via Action Theatre Conservatory in Clifton, NJ. Directing White Elephant Burlesque—the premier burlesque troupe of NJ from 2006 to 2019, a production company with a five year residency in New York City, and a three month engagement in Hollywood, CA—Viktor has thrilled audiences, won titles, and been a repeat participant to several festivals. Whether you are determining what will make your new act shine, an existing idea come to fruition, or how to make connection with the audience every time, Viktor will deconstruct the choices we make on stage, backstage, and in our heads that make the most of the business we call show.
Viktor has spoken and taught for Burlycon, the Alt Theatre of Buffalo New York, the annual Passionate Ink romance novelist convention, Hollywood Burlesque Festival, Emolesque, and multiple nerdlesque conventions.

Heels Performance for Stage Aquarius Moon | Movement | $20

A beginner-friendly technique and skill-building class to build foundations in your heel. Students will work through across-the-floor drills, center work, weight transfers, core work, turns, and grooves.
One with the Music: The Art of Musicality with Bob'beyonce | Movement | $20

This class will explore how to embody the music for Burlesque performance. Participants will warm up and connect with their bodies through a series of guided dynamic movements and intentional stretches. We will learn how to dissect the different elements of a song from lyrics to instrumentation through listening, observing, and experimenting with a short choreography combination. Through learning the combination students will learn how to pace themselves while delivering a dynamic performance that builds from beginning to end. Participants will be given hands-on instruction and personalized critiques to help them fully embody the music with certainty, confidence, and personal flair.
